Individual Savings Accounts, or ISAs, are a tax-efficient wrapper for cash savings or investments, meaning interest, dividends and gains held within them are generally free from income tax and capital gains tax. There are several types, including cash ISAs, stocks and shares ISAs, and Lifetime ISAs, each suited to different savings goals and risk appetites.

There is an annual limit on how much can be paid in across all ISAs held, and rules around transfers, withdrawals and combining accounts can catch people out. ISAs remain one of the simplest tax-efficient savings tools available to individuals, and we are happy to talk through how they fit into your wider financial and tax planning.
