CharitiesinEnglandandWales:trustees'responsibilities
A round up of some specialist areas from Money Laundering to Charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs.
Charities registered in England and Wales are regulated by the Charity Commission, and their trustees carry legal responsibility for ensuring the charity is run in line with its governing document and charity law, acting in the charity's best interests, managing resources responsibly, and safeguarding its assets and reputation for the benefit of the people or causes it exists to serve.
Trustees must also meet reporting obligations to the Commission, including annual returns and accounts appropriate to the charity's size and structure, and ensure proper financial controls are in place. We support charity trustees with accounting, independent examination and reporting requirements, helping boards meet their obligations with confidence and focus on their charitable purpose.
